Submissions
We are seeking a variety of creative and original work by Columbia College students!
When
By March 15, 2026
Submissions for our annual issue are rolling and open until March 15th of that year.
Who
All current Columbia College students may submit work.
What
We will consider the following amounts of work per category:
Fiction and literary nonfiction
1 piece up to 5,000 words,
or 1-3 pieces under 1000 words
Poetry
1-5 pieces
Visual art
1-5 pieces
Alternate Media - music, video, etc
1-3 pieces
How
To submit your work for consideration, please email the following to Jsullivan@columbiasc.edu:
First and last name as you would like to be credited
Submit each piece as an email attachment labeled with your last name and title.
Example: (Smith_The_Butterfly_Effect)
Include a short bio about you. This should be written in third person, describing you, your work, and/or your year in school, major, and interests.(~50 words)
Example: “Stephanie Smith is a sophomore at Columbia College pursuing a major in English with a minor in creative writing. In addition to her academic and creative interests, she also plays for the tennis team. This is her first poetry publication.”
Additional Guidelines
Content-wise, while we are open to a variety of perspectives, as a Methodist-affiliated organization, we aren’t interested in considering works that dehumanize groups of people or depict extreme material merely for shock value.
In general, we do not consider AI-generated works, but if your project is one that uses AI in a thoughtful, creative way, please disclose where and how you used it.
